25-03-20 Tasked by Humber Coastguard to reports of four people cut off by the tide at Kettleness Point. RBRB attended on scene and the suspected casualties were fishermen not in any danger.
18-03-20 Paged at 01:45am by Humber Coastguard to reports of a missing person Casualty recovered to shore but was sadly pronounced deceased on the beach
30-08-19 Tasked by Humber Coastguard to reports of a kayaker in difficulty on the north rocks at Runswick Bay RBRB attended scene and recovered the kayaker and his kayak safely back to shore with no reported injuries
23-08-19 Member of the public taken ill on slipway and needed emergency attention First aid delivered with the assistance of Lifeguards before the ambulance arrived
23-08-19 Tasked by Sierra 5 Charlie to investigate objects in the water at Kettleness On scene the items were diving buoys and divers safe and well
23-08-19 Tasked by Sierra 5 Charlie to search for two paddleboarders who had gone out of sight Paddleboarders found safe and well at Kettleness beach
23-08-19 Tasked by Humber Coastguard along with Whitby Offshore to investigate plumes of smoke spotted 2 miles off Kettleness point. On scene the plume turned out to be a huge swarm of flies following a dead whale carcus.
20-08-19 Tasked by Humber Coastguard to attend to assist Lifeguards in treating casualty with severe cut to the head RBRB recovered the casualty back to the boathouse where he was assessed by the Coastguard team.
24-07-19 Member of public fell on the slipway and required emergency first aid. Crew attended scene and assisted doctors on scene before standing down when ambulance arrived.
15-05-19 Member of the public requested assistance to help her husband who had fallen on rocks at Runswick Bay. Crew attended scene and provided assistance with help from Lifeguard officers. Casualty uninjured and recovered to a safe location.
23-02-19 Tasked by Humber Coastguard to reports of two kayakers in difficulty off Kettleness Point. Kayakers located safe and well not in need of assistance.
10-11-18 Runswick Rescue was tasked by Humber Coastguard to assist other SAR teams in finding a couple and their dogs cut off by the tide at Runswick Bay. The couple were found safe and well along with their dogs after an extensive search.
21-10-18 Launching Authority reported a lady had fallen over and required first aid. Crew attended scene and provided assistance to minor facial injury.
25-07-18 Launching Authority informed of boat which had run out of fuel – crew assembled by local pager call. Vessel located 1/2 mile south of Kettleness Point and towed back to Runswick. On returning to Runswick a second boat was also identified as broken down closer to shore and was again towed back.
18-02-18 Member of the public requested assistance with a casualty taken ill on the beach. Crew attended scene and assisted Emergency First Responder before being stood down when ambulance arrived
19-08-17 Member of public reported a small fishing vessel capsized and in difficulty in the bay. RBRB paged by Humber Coastguard Launched and assisted Staithes RNLI recovering two casualties from the water and recovering boat to Runswick Beach.
13-08-17 RNLI Lifeguards reported missing swimmer. Coastguard requested assistance in locating casualty. Swimmer located safe and well.
05-08-17 Member of public reported a leisure boat caught in pot ropes inside the bay. Authorised to launch and released boat from ropes for onward journey.
09-07-17 Pager call received from CoastGuard to assist two kayakers holding on to upturned kayak in strong wind and swell. Launched and recovered casualties to Runswick Beach.
10-06-17 Launching authority reported a casualty had fallen at Claymore and injured his knee. Crew attended scene and stood down when ambulance arrived.
01-06-17 Launching Authority reported an elderly gentleman taken poorly at café. Crew attended scene and after a short period of recuperation assisted gentleman to a waiting car.
23-04-17 Launching Authority reported a young boy had fallen and injured himself off seawall. Crew attended and administered first aid assisting casualty to a waiting car to attend hospital.
23-09-16 Pager call received from Coastguard to assist a couple cut off by the tide south of Runswick Bay in failing light. Boat launched and searched south of Runswick alongside Staithes RNLI. Couple located and transported from rescue boat onto Staithes boat for recovery back to shore.
28-08-16 Member of the public reported a kayaker struggling to get back on board and in the water. Boat launched and attended scene. Kayaker had managed to get himself on board and made his own way back to shore.
23-08-16 Member of the public reported suspected heart attack on the beach. Crew paged and defibrillator supplied on scene within minutes. Comms established with Humber Coastguard and Staithes & Skinningrove Coastguard teams attended along with the Helimed 99.
14-08-16 35′ Motor yacht hailed Runswick Rescue whilst out on excercise. Engine failure. Took spare battery and jump leads to restart engine. Liaised with Humber Coastguard regarding vessel’s safe onward passage to Whitby.
14-08-16 40′ Motor cruiser hailed Runswick Rescue whilst out on excercise. Disabled with rope tight round prop. Assisted with cutting rope from prop.
31-07-16 Member of the public reported an injured person on the rocks near Lingrow cliffs. Coastguard cliff teams also in attendance. Recovered casualty by sea, with broken ankle, to waiting ambulance.
19-07-16 Member of the public reported a dog in distress at Claymoor. Authorised by HMCG to launch and recovered collapsed dog and owners from the beach at Claymoor on a very hot day.
30-01-16 Pager call received from HMCG to faller from the sea wall with a broken leg. Recovered the casualty by stretcher to ambulance.
27-09-15 On training, encountered fishing vessel with warp fast round prop. Assisted with freeing propeller.
27-09-15 On training, discovered commercial fishing vessel aground near Kettleness. Gave advice and later, at high water, assisted with refloat and escorted to safety.
30-08-15 Launching Authority informed crew of vessel with engine failure at Runswick Beach. Authorised by HMCG to launch and tow vessel to Staithes.
23-08-15 Canoeist reported in difficulty in moderate surf near the sand bank. Crew mustered by local pager call but stood down as canoeist had reached the beach and was assisted with recovery of canoe and paddle by members of the public.
22-08-15 Distress call heard on Ch16 whilst on exercise. Authorised by Humber Coastguard to commence search. 22′ vessel eventually located approximately 3 miles off Lingrow. Stood by until taken under tow by Whitby AWB.
09-08-15 Small Rib with engine failure within the bay. Already at sea on exercise. Towed to shore.
09-08-15 Two persons in a kayak blown onto Lingrow. Already at sea on exercise. Recovered to the beach.
09-08-15 Person injured in fall on the slipway Shore support crew administered first aid until arrival of paramedics.
04-08-15 Dinghy sighted in Runswick Bay, with engine failure, blowing to sea. Initially authorised to launch by Humber CG but subsequently stood down when vessel was seen to have rowed ashore.
26-07-15 Report of yacht with damaged sails 1 mile east of Kettleness Identified yacht and stood by to await tow from Whitby Lifeboat. Assisted Whitby AWB with crew transfer to effect tow.
28-06-15 Local radio call (M1) from vessel inside Runswick Bay in difficulty. Vessel and occupants found safe at anchor with steering failure and towed back to Runswick Bay.
07-06-15 Ch16 distress call from vessel with engine problems outside Runswick Bay. Authorised by Humber CG to launch. Vessel located at anchor and towed back to Runswick Bay.
