2015 RBRB Charity Swim

Take on the Kettleness Distance

The third annual charity swim will be slightly different this year. For safety reasons the swim will take place nearer to the beach, with the course set from a buoy in front of the lifeboat house to the half mile point just past Claymoor Beck. This will also provide spectators with a much better view of the swim, whether from the cockpit, along the beach or from the luxury of the sailing club (members) or the Royal Hotel. The swim is also less likely to be cancelled (fingers crossed) as the beach side of the bay can often be in the lee when conditions further out in the bay are impossible.

The distances will be the same with the main prize, for adventurous swimmers, to take on the Kettleness Distance (2 miles – two laps). There is also the 1 mile distance and a 1/2 mile distance for all reasonably competent swimmers to have a go.
