We are always on the look out for, and very keen to hear from, anyone who is interested in joining. Whatever your age or skills, there could be a role for you. We are particularly interested in :
- Crew – If you are fit and willing and able to give some time to training and duties at weekends, then we will do the rest. The training you will receive from RBRB (you don’t need prior experience) will provide valuable life skills as well as knowledge and experience of safe boat handling and rescue skills. Core certificated training involves RYA Powerboat Level 2, VHF SRC (radio) certification, First Aid qualification (every 3 years) alongside the rescue specific, boat handling and local area knowledge that you will also gain.
- Committee – If you are looking for a charity involvement and can offer the time to attend committee meetings every couple of months … and maybe even take on an additional administrative function … then please do get in touch. We are very keen to hear from you, whether you have maritime skills (training, rescue, experience) or administrative skills (finance, events, administration, fundraising) there will be a role for you.
- Shore Support / Other – There are other roles where all that we require is a keenness to get involved, take part and enjoy being part of the team, whether that’s boathouse maintenance, medical support, events organisation or whatever.
It can be hard work at times but you are rewarded by being a part of team that is committed to making our community a safer and better place for all. It is fun too!
